Tweet this comment Cancel Submit Comment Subscribe to None Replies All new comments •••••In the girls game, Wellington evened its record at 1-1 as freshman Avery Rusk scored 14 points to lift the Lady Dukes to victory.  Conway Springs’ Alicia Carter scored 15.It was close the entire contest with the largest lead being seven points late in the second quarter.  Wellington led 20-15 at the half.After Wellington opened the third quarter committing four straight turnovers, Conway Springs got its first lead of the game at the 5:30 mark in the third quarter, 22-20 on a couple of Sarah Ebenkamp free throws.Wellington will play Haven today at 2:50 p.m. for third place. Gilmore 1 By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington boys basketball team will be participating in the Kingman Tournament Championship after beating Conway Springs 54-38 Friday afternoon.Earlier, the Wellington girls defeated Conway Springs 40-35 to play for the third place game.Wellington boys will play for the tournament championship at 7:40 p.m. tonight.The Crusaders opened Friday’s game with an 8-3 lead in the first quarter and led 25-10 at the half. Conway Springs produced more than 50 percent of its points in the third quarter outscoring the Dukes 20-14.
