(Colombo Gazette)CLICK HERE FOR AUDIO With regards to the attack on the Fashion Bug outlet in Pepiliyana last week, the Minister said that the government condemns the incident.He also said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa have instructed the police and the security forces to take action against anyone attempting to disturb the peace. The Minister was responding to criticism towards the government over its failure to stem the violence by extremist Buddhist groups targeting Muslims in the country. However he stressed that the government is keen to maintain peace and promote co-existence among all communities. The government is not responsible for the violent acts reported in recent times targeting a particular religion, Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary, Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena said today.Speaking at a media briefing the Minister said that it is now a common practice to point fingers at the government when an incident takes place.
